ABOUT OUR FRAMES: There are cheaper frames out there BUT all frames are not created equal! Compare our features and benefits with the others: • Better Frame Material. We sell either economy or handmade frames. Both are 100% quality hard wood. We DO NOT use extruded plastic frames or imitation wood—which usually is made from some type of composite material like MDF, then covered in plastic or vinyl. Our economy frame line is made by a professional frame factory here in the USA to our specifications. • Better Acrylic Glass. We do not offer real glass for our frames. Glass can and does break in shipping and it does not give any UV protection for your chips. We use either .060 or .090 framing grade, high quality non-yellowing acrylic glass. This gives 98% UV protection for your collectables. This type of acrylic is 4-5 times more expensive than real glass. Many of you have spent hundreds of dollars buying or trading poker chips, so don’t cheap out and have them fade! Beware of companies that use Mylar sheets which are as thin as paper (0.039) and call it UV acrylic, IT’S NOT. • Precision Laser Cut wood Inserts. The insert is what holds your chips in place. (Some people call this a mat or chip board.)These are not the foam/foam board die cut flimsy inserts. They are also not drilled. We are able to customize your insert with various color choices and/or images. They are 1/8” (.125) Baltic birch wood. Our inserts are first laser cut with state of the art lasers, then sanded by hand and finished to your color choice. Some of the others are finished first, and then cut leaving blemishes and burn marks (look close at the pictures of ours and the competitors!) Not ours! If your order does not pass our quality control we either toss it or place it as a reduced item in the discount section of our shop; we don’t send it to you! • Rigid backer boards. We use a 1/8” (0.125) tempered hardboard backs for all our frames. The weight of the chips can bend the back resulting in your chips falling out. Not a flimsy cardboard back. Stock off-the-shelf frames use cardboard! If you are purchasing only the insert and wish to use your own frame, that’s fine. We highly recommend you use the backer board we provide with every insert we sell. This will prevent the back from bending and your chips will not fall out. • Colored paper mat. This goes behind the wood insert. The only purpose it serves is to add a little color and charm to the empty holes that don’t yet have chips in them. Looks finished even when empty. Once your insert is full of chips you usually do not see the paper mat. A few of our inserts with different types of cut outs for words and buildings, etc. you will see the mat. • Brass Turn Buttons on Back. We use brass turn buttons on the frame back for easy insertion and removal of your chips. Many of our competitors don’t even show you the back! They are just using the bendy tabs that come on off the shelf frames. These only last for a few bends, then they break off. Some are not even re-useable. Bend them twice and they break off, and have also caused the glass to break if they were not installed correctly. Hey Ladies, they can ruin your fingernails! We ship with the screws completely tightened so you need a Phillips screwdriver to slightly loosen them on their first use. • Felt wall protectors. As its name suggests, wall protectors keep the bottom two corners of the picture frame from scratching the wall. They also keep the frame level when un-evenly filled with chips. • Large Saw Tooth Hanger. A large saw tooth hanger is already installed on the frame. It can be removed and re-installed if you want your frame to hang differently. By default it’s installed “landscape” unless otherwise noted. So we could make less expensive frames, BUT WE WON’T. We spent hundreds of dollars on frames and research for our own personal poker chip collection (collecting since 1978) and were not satisfied with any of them. Some were better than others and some were total imported junk and broke. So we decided to make our own with all the best features in one frame. A fellow collector said to us, “Wow those are GREAT, you should sell them,” and the rest is history. (Now you know why ours are slightly more expensive than the others that have copied us!)
